I am SO happy to see Friday! It’s Fall Break at Loyola so I get 4 full days of free time — thank you Christopher Columbus! I’ll be spending most of that time studying, but I’m not even upset about it. The weather has finally started to cool down and it’s starting to feel like Fall here in New Orleans. (I use the term “cool” very loosely as we’re still in the high 70s-low 80s everyday.) I might even grab a blanket and study in the park! What do you guys have planned for Columbus Day? Anyone taking a quick weekend trip?
:: Did you guys see Emily Schuman’s feature on Into The Gloss this week? Cupcakes and Cashmere was the first blog I ever read and is still the first blog I read every morning, so I soaked it all up like a sponge. Part 1 is all about beauty and part 2 (the one that spoke to me the most) is all about her blog and how her career as a full-time blogger has evolved. If you’re a blogger, or are thinking about becoming one, you definitely want to read this.
:: Speaking of Cupcakes and Cashmere, I re-read this closet clean-up post this week and I’m thinking it’s a great idea for a long-weekend project. I already organize my closet by wardrobe category (i.e. tops, dresses, bottoms, etc.) and then by color. But I could definitely benefit from putting some of the other tips to use. How do you organize your closet?
:: I apologize if I’ve gushed about this before (I legitimately can’t remember), but my must-have candle for Fall is Jonathan Adler’s Sugar candle. It’s sweet without being overly sweet. If that makes sense. Either way, it’s delicious and I love it. And you will too.
:: Thinking about starting a blog, a business or both? Read Abby Larson’s 5 tips for new bloggers/business owners. And if you don’t know who Abby Larson is, check out her fantastic blogs: Style Me Pretty (the best wedding blog on Earth) and Style Me Pretty Living.
Have a fantastic weekend!
